The sales, estimation, and proposal teams are booked solid to keep up with incoming opportunities. For instance:

  • Tommy has confirmed a new order for 12 Capella systems to be installed at a single site in Jersey City.

  • David reports that the market is very active, and the MHE team is actively seeking multiple opportunities with new and existing parcel and fulfillment clients, including multiple Air Knife projects.

Air Knife Program Update

The Air Knife Won’t Go Away

John Burns offered an update on the Air Knife program, which includes ongoing and new projects. And with growing interest in the program, we are picking up steam, expecting multiple additional opportunities before the end of 2025 and into 2026.

This equipment is being implemented at Greenfield AMZ facilities, although we are working with the Primary MHE Integrators for our scope of supply.

Air Knife updates:

  • 4039 – PDX8 (Dematic) – 2 Air Knife Units were turned over and placed into production this month. The project is complete.

  • 4131 – SBN1 (Dematic) – 2 Air Knife Units – Scheduled for Start-up and Training Support in September.

  • 4234 – DAB2 (Vanderlande) – 2 Air Knife Units – Scheduled for Start-up and Training Support, July 30th.

  • 4342 – YVR6 (Dematic) – 1 Air Knife to be installed – put on delay until Q3/Q4 of 2025. Recently received P.O.s for ORF4 (Vanderlande) and MTN6 (BEUMER GROUP).

  • 4411 – ORF4 will be installed next week, commissioning dates to follow.

  • 4420 – MTN6 (BEUMER GROUP) – Installation expected middle to end of June 2025.

We also have “Stock” AK Units in our possession and awaiting additional opportunity for deployment.

Finally, we have committed to Sonic Air’s purchase of 12 additional air knife units. This “Bulk” purchase is going to provide us with significant cost savings and is somewhat of a new approach in cooperation with our leadership.

Community Spotlight

Meet Cameron Trease

Cameron Trease joined the Engineering Team in July 2024 and has carved out a unique niche working with the SAPS team and supporting proposal creation.

Mr. Trease was born in Hamilton, Mississippi, 45 miles SE of Tupelo. It’s a classic “one-factory” town near Columbus AFB, where his father was deployed as a flight simulator technician. After completing his service, Cameron’s dad remained in the area, launching a career installing and maintaining simulator systems, which had the additional benefit of a young Cameron to “test” the equipment.

Cameron was an active youngster, playing basketball and running track. In his words, “I could always run very fast.” His 4.4 40 supports the claim! He also has nurtured a love of exploring the fields and forests of central Mississippi.

When Cameron first arrived at the University of Mississippi, he had not selected a major, leaning toward law school prep. However, beneath all of this, he has exceptional math skills and was convinced by friends to check out the Engineering Department.

Trease graduated in December 2020 and accepted a job in Nashville, which included lots of international travel. The new job was also directly related to his family life. He was in a long-term relationship throughout his college years. Destined to be married, Cameron made it clear that he would not propose until he landed a job. On the day he accepted the offer, he bought a ring and proposed to her on a previously planned trip to the Gulf the following week. They immediately married the day they returned. And since last fall, they have enjoyed the arrival of a daughter. Our “new daddy” teammate has confessed that she is his WHOLE LIFE (Cameron’s emphasis).

What do you love best about SilMan?

“I love how from the top down there’s really a sense of family with the whole group. Everybody puts focus on the team aspect in every conversation and it made me feel welcome and involved from the start!” – Cameron

Hearing Conservation

In this edition of Safe & Sound, let’s talk about the importance of hearing conservation. Our work environment often exposes us to loud noises that can cause irreversible hearing damage if we’re not careful. Hearing loss is gradual and painless, which makes it easy to overlook and ignore the risks.

  • To protect your hearing, always wear the appropriate hearing protection devices like earplugs or earmuffs whenever you’re in noisy areas. It is important to make sure they fit properly for maximum effectiveness. Remember, noise levels above 85 decibels can cause hearing damage over time and require the use of hearing protection.

  • Always limit your exposure to loud noises whenever possible. Take regular breaks in quieter areas to give your ears a rest. Also, be aware of warning signs like ringing in your ears or muffled hearing after a shift. These signs can be easy to ignore but it is your body telling you to protect your hearing better.

  • It’s essential to have regular hearing checkups to monitor your hearing health prior to noticing any signs of hearing loss. Your supervisor and safety team are here to support you with proper equipment and training.

By taking these simple steps, we can prevent hearing loss and preserve our ability to communicate and enjoy everyday sounds outside of work. Let’s keep safety at the forefront of everything we do each and every day.

Juan Reyes

Juan Reyes is in his 12th year with SilMan…that’s right, T-W-E-L-V-E. He is a Carpenter and currently the Foreman at ASR.

When Mr. Reyes is not at “the office,” he loves to spend time with his wife and two children, a boy and a girl, 14 and 12 years old. He also accepts odd jobs for friends.

Juan loves Banda, which is a popular style of Mexican music that primarily features wind instruments. And his favorite song, “Vas A Llorar Por Mí” (“You Will Cry for Me”). He is clearly not alone; this video has 406M views
